Grooming Policies
Everything you need to know before your pet's grooming appointment. We want every visit to be safe, comfortable, and stress-free.
Appointments & Cancellations
- All grooming services are by appointment only.
- A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
- Cancellations with less than 48 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.
- No-shows or last-minute cancellations may be required to prepay future appointments.
Arrival & Pick-Up Times
- Please arrive on time for your scheduled appointment. Late arrivals may result in a shortened service or rescheduling if more than 15 minutes late.
- Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time, as I may still be finishing with another pet and strive to keep my service one-on-one.
- Pets must be picked up promptly once notified unless otherwise discussed.
- We will ask how much notice you will need to come back for your pet.
- Late pick-ups may result in a daycare/holding fee.
Pet Health & Safety
- Please inform me of any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, or concerns prior to EACH appointment.
- Grooming can sometimes reveal pre-existing conditions (lumps, skin irritation, etc.), and I will notify you if anything is noticed.
Matted Coats
- Severely matted coats may require shaving for the pet's comfort and safety.
- De-matting can be painful and stressful, and will not be performed if it causes undue distress.
- Additional charges may apply for matted pets.
- By booking, you acknowledge the risks of grooming a matted coat, including minor irritation or skin sensitivity.
Fleas & Parasites
- Because we work from a home location, we are unfortunately unable to offer flea treatment and pets with fleas will be sent home.
- Ticks can be removed for an additional $5.
- You will be notified of any other parasites or additional charges.
Pricing & Payments
- Prices vary based on breed, coat condition, size, and time required.
- Final pricing may differ if extra care or time is needed.
- Payment is due at the end of the service on pick up.
Loyalty & Referral Programs
- Enjoy 20% off every 5th full groom with our loyalty program.

Photos & Social Media
- I love sharing cute clients! Photos/videos of your pet may be used for social media or marketing unless you request otherwise. Please be sure to let us know if you do not want your pet posted.
Liability Agreement
By booking an appointment, you agree that:
- You have disclosed all known health concerns.
- You understand grooming involves risks, especially for elderly or matted pets.
- Ava's House Pet Care is not liable for pre-existing conditions that may be affected during grooming.
